Did you use a citation
Or did you just cut and paste?
So when it`s time for confession
What shall you say about all the haste?

FLOWERS AS AN ALLEGORY
By Tikum Mbah Azonga
Flowers aren`t just bright
They`re also beautiful
They radiate God`s inelastic energy
And make his world rotate on its axis.

THE ROAD FROM MANYEMEN
Ny Tikum Mbah Azonga
Put them here
All of them
Leave nothing behind
And hold back nothing.
My life is clear
I, this noble son of Manyemen
Even so, unless there are new links to bind
We of Manyemen won`t be caught gaping.

MY DUTY
By Tikum Mbah Azonga
It costs me nothing
So, I'll do it, even if alone
It's not for money
Or even for a smile
It's for humanity.

THE PAPER BOAT
By Tikum Mbah Azonga
We’re not at loggerheads
That’s not good enough
We’re walls and worlds apart
Like the two blokes in their heyday
Mediation won’t work
So save your energy.
Before us, he was one of the Feds
He earned enough dough
Like a master planner he played well his part
But when the conquerors came and spoilt his holiday
He declared the president was nothing but a jerk
That’s why he’s spent his time looking for Carnegie.

SOLDIER BY PROFESSION
By Tikum Mbah Azonga
I dislike the casualties of war
Although I welcome field action
Artillery fire or hand-to-hand combat.
As a professional, do I have a choice?
We’re trained for nothing else but war
Trained to aim, attack, kill and conquer for the nation
That’s why I value my weapon more than my hat
We obey orders but have no voice.

MY KIND OF PLACE
By Tikum Mbah Azonga
It’s not marble or even gold
Like they say
Not all that glitters is gold
So why exile me to mars
To die a miserable death?
I don’t want a state funeral
But for Christ’s sake
Let me die here.
War isn’t what scares me
No, it’s little girls in shorts
They are an enemy to the human eye
Yet I can’t pluck and eat
They’re like an impregnable wall
Full of concrete and more concrete
But short of the friendly pith
And the common man’s lowly plea.

THREE SIXTY DEGREES
By Tikum Mbah Azonga
Is it a U-Turn?
Or is it a free fall
Whatever happened in this world
To all the rainbow girls?
Did they twist at last
Or were they shown the door?
Is it that they have money to burn
Or are they still shopping at the mall?
If they think they own God’s little pearls
Why, then blast!
Let them also give to the poor.

YOUR HEART`S DESIRE
By Tikum Mbah Azonga
I know what you want
It`s the last of the apple gates
That`s why you`re here
But where`s your outer gear?
Did you leave it on the train
Or did you sell it for a penny?
I know why you rant
You`re dreaming of the United States
Wishing that you retired there
Yet to you your apple gates are dear
What if suddenly it begins to rain?
Won`t you then be filled with envy?
I know what you want
It`s the last of the apple gates
That`s why you`re here
But where`s your outer gear?
Did you leave it on the train
Or did you sell it for a penny?
I know why you rant
You`re dreaming of the United States
Wishing that you retired there
Yet to you your apple gates are dear
What if suddenly it begins to rain?
Won`t you then be filled with envy?
