GODS OF A DIFFERENT KIND

By Tikum Mbah Azonga

The rain gods are not lake gods
The latter are Butake’s
And the former, ours ; simply ours
Just like ‘Simply the Best’.

So if you were to put anyone to the test
It wouldn’t be lakes without oars
No, it would be more gods wielding our little fates
With no chairmen for the Boards.
