A FLOWER BY ANOTHER NAME

By Tikum Mbah Azonga

(For Flora)

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown
Or so they say
That was the label I found on the way to Bafut
It wasn`t another question of fig trees
Or budding novelists like Flora
No, it was partners in arms for excellence
So for her I`ll never waver or falter.

I know about fonts and indentation, though not the crown
They are all strewn along the way
I love ball games including foot
But when it comes to being free
I take special care of my aura
My old man always taught me reverence
And the need never to be far from the altar.
